Compact, family van or SUV: which car for which island programme.

The right vehicle depends on three things: the number of passengers, the amount of luggage and the programme you have in mind. A compact car is enough for a couple who stays between the hotel and the beach; it parks easily in coastal villages and uses little fuel. A family of five or six will prefer a van, which is more comfortable on the motorway and easier to load. An SUV or a 4x4 is only useful if you plan side roads or mountain roads in the rain: on the main network an ordinary car goes everywhere. The guides below detail each case, remind you that traffic keeps left and list what to check with the business: insurance, excess, deposit, mileage and fuel. Keep in mind that the entries of the directory come from open sources and that a business can change its conditions: always ask for a written summary before you pay or leave.
